I am passionate about meeting debut talent, especially illustrators and writers new to children’s books. I regularly speak and present workshops at Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) conferences -- both national and regional -- as well as several art schools across the country. This invigorates my daily professional life and my hope is to inspire creators in their work. I have served as a thesis advisor for graduate students in the visual narrative programs at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore and School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York City. Please feel free to email me to schedule speaking engagements, workshop presentations, or portfolio reviews.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for spotting my portfolio three years ago, and seeing potential in my work. I have had the most unbelievable joy and pleasure working with you and your team. —Adrienne Wright, debut author illustrator ofHector: A Boy, a Protest, and the Photograph That Changed Apartheid (published by Page Street Kids / An ALA Notable Book / Kirkus Reviews BEST OF 2019 in Middle Grade Biography / Kirkus + Booklist starred reviews)
